What is a BB-GLOW treatment?

The popularity of the procedure, which has its origins in South Korea, now extends far beyond Southeast Asia.
The Dermapen device was originally developed for fractional mesotherapy, in which a movable needle cartridge creates numerous vertical microdots on the surface of the skin through which the previously applied beauty product penetrates into the depths of the skin gland.
The BB Glow treatment uses the same device, but in conjunction with special nanocartridges whose needles are only 0.1 mm long - while the working length of needles for mesotherapy starts at 0.3-0.4 mm.
The BB Glow treatment is limited to the upper layers of the epidermis and involves the application of an emulsion consisting of a skin-colored pigment in combination with a light moisturizing or vitamin complex, often containing high-molecular hyaluronic acid. Injected into the uppermost layers of the epidermis, the emulsion moisturizes the skin, providing a more radiant complexion and an even skin tone.
How is the BB-GLOW treatment carried out?
Preparation for the BB Glow treatment
It is not necessary for the patient to prepare or undergo a restrictive regimen before a BB-Glow treatment. However, written confirmation that the patient has no intolerances to the components of the product should be available before the treatment. If this is not possible, an allergy test must be carried out at least one day before the treatment. After a deep peel, it is recommended that the treatment is only carried out after a break of two weeks.
The patient is placed on the couch and the hair is tucked under a cap. Make-up and dirt are then removed from the face. A light superficial enzymatic peeling with fruit acids can also be carried out. The skin is then disinfected with an antiseptic solution and dried before the serum is applied.
Toning
The toning emulsion is applied to the entire face with a cosmetic brush. The Dermapen device is used to spread the product in the direction of the massage lines. The BB Glow treatment does not require the needle to penetrate the blood vessels, which means that there is no pain when the serum is applied. This means that the treatment can also be carried out under the conditions included in the traditional list of contraindications for injection methods with exposure of deeper skin layers (pregnancy and breastfeeding, coagulopathy, decompensated diabetes, cardiac, respiratory and renal failure). However, the use of BB Glow on excessively dry or oily skin should be considered on an individual basis, as the treatment may aggravate the problem.

2. A dramatic brightening effect after a BB Glow treatment is only observed with a correspondingly dark skin color - phototypes IV-VI.
Since the BB Glow treatment was invented for Asian skin, with its specific tone and denser texture, beauticians have only a limited range of regimens available, which have been suggested by Korean experts. As a result, they are not effective enough for the skin of European patients. Until BB Glow techniques are developed for skin types I-III, a significant brightening effect on lighter skin is unlikely.
