DERMAROLLER APPLICATION TIPS

Preparation and disinfection

1. Preparation and disinfection

Since skin redness may occur immediately after the treatment, we recommend performing the microneedling treatment at night. To do this, first take the dermaroller out of the packaging and check it for damage (e.g. bent needles).

Then disinfect the roller. mix 4 ml Instrusol® with 100 ml water in a glass and insert the dermaroller for 15 minutes, the needle roller must be completely covered with the working solution, then rinse the dermaroller with warm water and allow to air dry.

Dermaroller cleaning

2. Cleaning

While the dermaroller is disinfecting in the jar, remove makeup and cleanse the areas of the body to be treated with plenty of water and the mild Treatment Cleanser. Take a small amount of Cleanser and mix it with a little warm water. You will now have a soft intensive care foam. Gently massage this foam and then rinse thoroughly.

Enzyme peeling

3. Enzyme peeling

The next step is to remove dead skin cells from the skin. To do this, apply the Enzymatic Treatment Peeling undiluted to the skin with a mask brush. Avoid the mouth and eye area. leave on for 5-10 minutes. Then remove residues with plenty of water and a sponge. Carefully dry skin areas and spray with undiluted Alcoderm® Skin Disinfection (exposure time 30 seconds).

Note: From a needle length of 0.75 mm, the application of an anesthetic cream (e.g. Emla cream) may be useful. Observe the manufacturer's exposure times.

Sterile serum for dermaroller

4. Sterile serum

Basically, there are two ways to combine microneedling with an active substance treatment (serum). Either you apply the sterile serum directly with the dermaroller or you use an after-care serum after the treatment. Due to the pharmaceutical purity and higher effectiveness, we recommend a sterile active ingredient ampoule. For a treatment on the face you need only 2-3 ml, on the body more depending on the size of the area to be treated.

Sterile serum for dermaroller

5. Needling

Rolling with the right technique. When rolling, it helps to divide the body into different zones. Roll eight times from top to bottom and eight times from left to right, then eight times diagonally from top left to bottom right and eight times from top left to bottom left.

After each strip, completely peel the dermaroller off the skin and replace it. Repeat this process until all skin areas have been treated. The serum now acts as a lubricant, making the treatment gentler and less painful. Roll with light, gentle pressure.

Dermaroller Hydration

6. Hydration

After the treatment, the skin channels are open for about 15 minutes and are particularly receptive to highly effective masks. DERMIDA® Remove Moisturizing Mask from the packaging. Remove the two protective foils, if any, and place the mask on the treated body. Relax for 10 minutes. After 15 minutes of exposure, remove the mask and gently massage in excess serum.

Dermaroller Hydration

7. Repair

Microneedles stress the skin. Sensitive and sensitive skin types now use the DERMIDA® Post Treatment Repair Balm. This is an intensively moisturizing and soothing care balm for immediate use after the puncture. The repair balm is hygienically packed individually. Apply the balm to the skin with circular movements and allow it to be completely absorbed.

Dermaroller Protect

8. Protect

Microneedling is suitable at any time of the year. If the treated area of the body is exposed to the sun, special UV protection with a high sun protection factor is necessary. A thin sunscreen cream that is absorbed very quickly is suitable for this purpose. DERMIDA® Apply UV Protect Cream SPF 50+ to the treated area.

Dermaroller Hydration

9. Daily care

After treatment, rinse the dermaroller thoroughly with clear water. Disinfect again as for preparation. Afterwards, store the dermaroller in the container provided. Avoid touching your skin with your hands for the next two hours. Avoid excessive sweating, steam baths and direct sunlight on the day of treatment. Do not wear makeup. Sleeping is the best relaxation for your skin now. If necessary, change your pillowcase beforehand. On the days between treatments, you can further improve the treatment result with special DERMIDA® day care creams.

MICRONEEDLING WITH PRP

Microneedling with PRP (Platelet-rich Plasma) is a cosmetic treatment that uses a roller with fine needles to prick the skin. This procedure stimulates collagen production, which can help repair scars and reduce signs of aging.

PRP contains growth factors and cytokines that help skin tissue repair itself.

It can also be added as an injection or topically to enhance its effects.

Microneedling with PRP is an elective aesthetic procedure. Health insurance does not cover the cost of cosmetic procedures, so you will need to pay for the procedure yourself.

Microneedling is a non-invasive procedure that uses microfine needles to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and tighten the skin. The microfine needle stimulates collagen production in the skin without damaging the skin.

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is added to enhance the effects of microneedling. PRP contains proteins such as growth factors and cytokines that help repair skin tissue. First, the doctor uses a microneedling tool to prick the skin, which creates tiny holes in the skin's surface. Then, PRP is applied to the treated skin. This combination of microneedling and PRP is sometimes called a "vampire facial."

Dermaroller FAQ

For which applications is the 1.5 mm Dermaroller suitable?

The Dermaroller with a needle length of 1.5 mm is the model with the longest needle in our range and is used for deeper skin problems, e.g. severely wrinkled skin, stretch marks, stretch marks, cellulite and deep scars/surgical scars.

What is the principle of action?

The cosmetic procedure underlying this process is called microneedling. This is a minimally invasive, non-ablative and non-surgical procedure that sustainably improves the skin's appearance by stimulating the body's own factors and biological processes. The skin responds to artificially created lesions with the formation of the body's own collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, as well as long-term renewal of skin cells. These processes lead to the renewal of damaged skin tissue and can reverse many skin problems such as wrinkles, scars or pigment changes. Combining the treatment with a high-quality dermaroller, the natural regenerative ability of the skin is stimulated by the powerful effect of cosmetic-medical active ingredients.

What makes Original DERMIDA® Dermaroller special?

The DERMIDA® Dermaroller is the market-leading dermaroller in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. More than 10,000 European cosmetic and dermatological practices rely on this quality. Unlike other models, the original DERMIDA® Dermaroller has individual, genuine via needles made of stainless steel, which are pressed into the roller in a complex process. This has the advantage over punched dermarollers that the needles are less painful, remain pointed longer and penetrate the skin more easily. For its high-quality properties, the Dermaroller DERMIDA® was awarded the title of test winner by the leading German specialist portal for microneedles.

Which needle length is suitable for which treatment?

How often can I use the dermaroller of 1.5 mm?

The treatment interval always depends on the length of the needle used and the individual skin condition. The 1.5 mm dermaroller penetrates relatively deep into the skin. Therefore, it needs more time for regeneration. We recommend treatment with the 1.5 mm dermaroller once a month.

Disinfect the dermaroller properly.

The dermaroller must always be disinfected before and after each treatment with a mixture of Instrusol and water using the soaking method. Instrusol is a professional instrument disinfectant. Do not use isopropyl alcohol!

Why does the dermaroller need to be disinfected?

Hygiene is key when it comes to microneedles, because the roller equipped with needles penetrates the skin to stimulate the formation of collagen fibers and the body's own hyaluronic acid.

If the dermaroller is not properly disinfected, bacteria can easily spread in the face and cause inflammation or infection through the small open skin channels.

Disinfection of the Dermaroller is also necessary the first time it is used, as the Dermaroller is not supplied medically sterile!

When does the Dermaroller need to be disinfected?

The Dermaroller should be disinfected twice for each application - once before and once after use.

Does the treatment with the 1.5 mm Dermaroller cause pain?

Empirical studies have shown that most users only experience the treatment as increasingly painful from a needle length of 0.75 mm.

Depending on the sensitivity to pain, it may be useful for some users to apply an anesthetic cream before treatment. We recommend, for example, EMLA cream, which is available over the counter at any pharmacy.

When should treatment be avoided?

As with any minimally invasive treatment, there are reasons not to undergo dermaroller treatment: the so-called contraindications.

You should not buy or use a dermaroller if you have the following contraindications:

' If the dermaroller has already been used by another person. or if you notice any defects in the device.

' In case of active infections such as acne, rosacea, couperose, herpes, wounds, rashes or eczema.

' In case of poor wound healing, skin diseases, keloid scars or nerve damage in the skin area.

' In blood clotting disorders or when taking blood thinners.

' In case of very large warts or scars.

' During pregnancy and breastfeeding.

If in doubt, discuss treatment with your doctor or dermatologist beforehand. Many professional dermatologists now give treatment with the dermaroller preference over ablative procedures (e.g. laser), as these are much gentler.

When does the Dermaroller need to be replaced?

The original DERMIDA® Dermaroller is particularly robust and durable. Due to the complex production with single needles, the dermaroller can be used much more often than the dermaroller with perforated discs. Depending on the size of the skin area, you can use the dermaroller DERMIDA® 15 to 20 times, which is easy on your wallet and the environment.

However, at the latest when you notice that the Dermaroller penetrates the skin more heavily, you should replace it.

How many needles does the Dermaroller have and how many are needed?

The Dermida Dermaroller has exactly 192 fine stainless steel needles. There is a good reason for this. Empirical studies have shown that this is the optimal number of needles to pierce the skin evenly and painlessly. We do not recommend buying dermarollers with more than 192 needles.

Can the Dermaroller be used by more than one person?

No, a dermaroller may only be used by one person for hygienic reasons!

When will you see the first results?

Of course, when microneedling with the dermaroller, you want to achieve and see fast results. However, this varies depending on skin type, type of problem and depth of puncture. However, most users see a significant improvement after the first or second application.

How do I behave after the treatment?

After treatment, rinse the dermaroller thoroughly with clear water, disinfect with Instrusol® and water as in step 1 and allow to air dry. Afterwards, store the dermaroller in the container provided. Avoid touching the skin with your hands for the next two hours. Avoid heavy sweating, steam baths and direct sunlight on the day of treatment. Do not wear makeup. Sleeping is the best rest for your skin now. If necessary, change the pillowcase beforehand.

Are replacement heads offered for the Dermaroller?

No, there are no replacement rollers for the DERMIDA Dermaroller. We strongly advise against using dermarollers with exchangeable rollers. Our experience has shown that these rollers "shrink" very quickly in the suspension. This makes a good treatment result more difficult and increases the risk of injury.
